concept that takes customization and hybrid
store environments to the next level by taking
clues from the hospitality industry…

 
 

INTRO

With traditional shopping experiences becoming less desirable for the consumer…

How do we create environments that draw in consumers?
What do consumers want out of their shopping experience?
How do they want to experience? Tactile? Digital?
How do we make them feel taken care of?

By taking clues from the hospitality industry, retailers can engage their customers be offering a more personalized and tailored experience.

MISSION: Correlate guest scent profiles with flavor profiles.

Le Labo has become iconic for its collection of handmade perfumes and home sets available in a limited number of locations around the world. The incredibly talented perfumers at Le Labo only work with the highest quality raw Ingredients to make a special hand-poured masterpiece. Masterpieces such as the Santal 33 scent can be recognized on people all around the world. With such an exclusive following, Le Labo has the opportunity to offer their loyal following an experience like no other such as creating a custom fragrance as iconic as Santal 33.

In addition to the traditional Le Labo store, guests have the option of exploring the Le Labo possibilities. At special screens equipped with PERCH INTERACTIVE located within the shelving units, guests will be able to take a quiz and explore the possibilities of what they might like. With the ability to smell the components that would go into their special formula,guests will be able to customize their fragrance. Once the ideal fragrance is picked, the guest gets a ticket with their custom formulated scent and a corresponding flavor profile. While waiting for their custom order to be poured in the perfume lab, guests are welcome to enjoy a drink of their choosing or one that matches with the flavor profile provided in the Le Labo Cafe. There will also be a special menu that pairs and has similarities to Le Labo’s signature fragrances.

Retail Store

When guests first enter the store, they approach a perfume counter with Le Labo’s signature fragrances displayed. Here they can get a sense of the richness of their hand poured scents.

A Tester sink is available to test Le Labo’s bath and body lines. Guests will be able to test bodywash, lotions and more.

PERCH INTERACTIVE display provides guests with the opportunity to learn more about Le Labo’s signature fragrances and how to customize their own. With an interactive questionnaire as guests guide, it provides an alternative to working with a sales associate. Doing this enables guests to have a more personal experience with the brand.

Cafe

When coming from the retail store, the guests that have received a flavor profile from the interactive quiz will be met with a Sommelier and a Cicerone who will provide a wine or beer pairing. Guests also have the opportunity to select from a set menu and order classic drinks with the bartender.

The Le Labo Cafe be entered through the main store or an exterior entrance. This gives the location the opportunity to work in conjunction with the retail space or operate seperately.
